Energy and Water Infrastructure Projects

We provide construction support to our clients, main contractors and contracting partners and are capable of undertaking large infrastructure development projects using our own resources. GPS can undertake scope of works from site preparation to commissioning of infrastructure development projects such as:

  • Utility projects within Electricity, Water supply and Sewerage sectors;
  • Main sewer collection and conveyance systems for city sewage systems and service connections;
  • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Water Treatment Plant (RO & Desalination);
  • Large industrial facilities.

We provide trenchless methods for pipeline construction including micro-tunneling services for large diameter underground conveyance systems, non-disruptive road crossings (NDRC) utilizing the latest technology in Horizontal Thrust Boring and Directional Drilling Techniques and the construction of sub-sea pipelines and rework to marine facilities.

Case: Haya water pipe projects

GPS undertook massive infrastructure projects to upgrade part of the sewage systems in the various locations in Oman, including the Capital Area (Muscat), since our entry to the water and wastewater infrastructure sector in 2006.

Constructed over 5000 kilometers of pipelines and related facilities in this segment under various contracts since the start of this division. GPS’s experience in water and wastewater pipelines covers CS, DI, HDPE, UPVC, GRP pipes and fittings.

Some of the strategic projects executed by GPS in Oman are:

  • A water transmission pipeline connecting the Ghubra water desalination plant to the Muscat water reservoir, commissioned by Oman’s Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW). Leveraging advanced micro-tunneling technology, GPS efficiently completed the project, drawing on its expertise from similar successful endeavors collaborating with and constructing projects for Haya Water.

  • Expansion of the Salalah wastewater network, addressing critical infrastructure needs in Salalah. This comprehensive project included house connections, trunk sewer installations, and a pump/lift station, marking the versatility of GPS.

  • Construction of RCC reservoirs, pumping stations, water transmission pipelines and pumping mains, distribution networks, main overhead line for power supply, control, instrumentation & SCADA Systems under the contract for Water Supply Scheme to Al- Duqm.
